Thomas Frank expects a ‘tough game’ when we travel to St. Mary’s to face Southampton on Saturday.
The Saints currently sit 12th after a tricky start to the season, having faced the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea in their opening six games.
And the Bees boss is keen for his side to put in another good performance this weekend, as we look for our first away win of the season.
When asked what he expects from Southampton, Thomas responded: "A tough game. They play slightly more direct this season. They still have four players between the lines and push their full-backs on - that's an area we need to defend well against.
“I think when they play in between the lines they create chances, which they've done in all their games so far.”
He added: “I think Southampton have done very well so far. Looking at the fixtures so far, they have met three of the top six teams - Tottenham, United and Chelsea - and performed well in definitely two of them.
“Last year, I think we were quite good away from home. This year, we have had some great comebacks.
“At Crystal Palace, we played a good game and perhaps could/should have won it in the end. Fulham, we had a bad 20 minutes.
“I think, in general, our performances have been stable and consistent home and away, so hopefully we can give it that extra push, get over the line, and get the three points.”
