What is our legal basis for using your personal information?
Depending on the personal information involved and the way in which we use it, our legal basis under data protection law for processing your personal information is:
for the performance of a contract with you, such as when you buy products or services from us;

that we are legally required or permitted to do so, such as to respond to a police, law enforcement or governmental request or to conform to authorities’ requirements to collect CCTV or audio-visual material
In some instances, we may obtain your consent to processing your personal information, such as for sending you certain marketing messages; you will always have the opportunity to withdraw your consent, but this will not affect any processing undertaken before you do so.
Legitimate interests
The use we make of your personal data – set out in detail above under What information do we collect about you and how do we use it? – is principally necessitated by our legitimate interests in various activities that are typical of a professional football club, such as:

Other purposes
We will only use your personal information for the purposes stated in this policy, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so. We may process your personal information without your knowledge or consent where this is required or permitted by law.
Any wifi services we provide at our stadium or other premises are subject to separate privacy and other terms accessed through those services.
Transferring data outside the UK and EEA
Brentford is, of course, based in the UK. However, sometimes it may be necessary to transfer your personal information outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA) - for example, where a third-party supplier is situated outside the EEA. We will only do so where there are adequate safeguards in place (for instance by means of approved contractual agreements) or it is otherwise lawful.
How do we keep your personal information secure?
We have put in place appropriate security measures intended to prevent your personal information from being accidentally or unlawfully lost or altered, or disclosed or accessed without authorisation. Our employees only process your personal information on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We have procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
A password is required to access certain parts of our website and app. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and confidential: please do not share with or disclose your password to any other person.
You may provide us through our website, app or on the phone with payment card details as part of your financial details. This information is used solely for billing purposes. We use a payment services provider that is certified under the PCI-DSS industry standard. Your payment card information is encrypted and transmitted to that payment services provider securely via HTTPS, and is never stored on our computers. We do, however, store the last four digits of your payment card number, which are retained to assist in the resolution of queries concerning payments.
How long do we keep your personal information ?
We keep your personal information for so long as reasonably required to fulfil the purpose that we collected it for (see What information do we collect about you and how do we use it ? above). We will delete, destroy or completely anonymize your personal information - or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is practicable - once we no longer need to keep it for that purpose, or for legal, accounting or tax reasons, to deal with disputes, to defend ourselves against future legal claims or to enforce our agreements. If you are asked to express a marketing preference (such as not to send you direct marketing), we keep a record of that to ensure we respect it subsequently.
We keep a record of CCTV footage for as long as is necessary – typically three months for images recorded within the stadium bowl and 28 days for other imagery. On occasions there may be a need to keep images for longer than this, for example where a crime is being investigated.
We regularly review our personal information retention policies to ensure that we are not holding personal information for longer than is necessary.
What rights do you have in relation to your personal information?
Under data protection legislation you have a range of rights.
Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
Request correction of your personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us.
Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete your personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete your personal information where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal information to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
Object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground as you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Request restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of your personal information in the following scenarios: (a) if you want us to establish the data’s accuracy; (b) where our use of the data is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it; or (c) where you need us to hold the data even if we no longer require it as you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Request the transfer of your personal information to you or to a third party. We will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. This right does not apply where our legal basis for processing your personal information has a legitimate interest.
Where we are using your information based on your consent, you can withdraw your consent. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.
You may not always be able to benefit from these rights - for instance if you ask us to delete information which we are required by law to keep or have a compelling legitimate interest in keeping, or if completing your request would cause someone else’s personal information to be revealed. We will let you know if this is the case.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact our Information Officer by email to the address specified below. You will not have to pay a fee to exercise any of your legal rights as specified above. However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the relevant personal information (or to exercise any of your other legal rights). This is a security measure we take to help avoid your personal information being disclosed to a person who has no right to receive it.
We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to help speed up our response.
We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
