Brentford Women will look to extend their London South East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North unbeaten run to seven games as they face Richmond Park on Sunday at the Matthew Arnold Centre in a 2pm kick-off.
The women’s first team have hit great form in the league and sit top of the table going into this weekend with head coach Karleigh Osborne confident his side can get another three points.
Speaking on Sunday’s game, Osborne said: “We have put together some consistent performances in the league in recent weeks which is massively important especially as we are battling it out for the title.
“We know it’s going to be tight in terms of the league standings at the end of the season but all that matters is we win every game we play and I have a positive feeling that this group can do that.”
The Bees retained their position at the top of the league following their win over Dulwich Reserves in their previous game.
It was another terrific attacking display from Osborne’s side which included a hat-trick from Chloe Logie taking the striker to 33 goals for the season before Eleonora Cottrell came from the bench to seal the win.
Talking on last weekend’s victory, Osborne explained: “We were brilliant last week, the only negative I have is that we probably could have scored more but 4-0 is a great result so I can’t complain.
“That performance shows what we can do to teams when we are at our best, I think it’s important to mention we kept a clean sheet as well. We are an attacking-based team and like to play good football but at the same time we understand the importance of keeping the ball out of our net, it would be nice to see a similar performance this Sunday against Richmond.”

Brentford Women fought back from a goal down to beat Richmond Park 4-1 in the reverse fixture with a record 1,124 supporters watching on at Bedfont Sports Club. An early Richmond goal was cancelled out by Freya Worsley on 25 minutes with the midfielder scoring her first goal for the club at a great time. Chloe Logie then scored an unbelievable hat-trick which saw the women’s first team claim all three points on a brilliant day for the club.
Our B team are also in action on Sunday as they return to Bedfont Sports Club to take on Luton Town Ladies Reserves in the Greater London Women’s Football League Division One North in a 3pm kick-off.
Tommy Ryan-Maynard’s side will finish second in the league despite the results of their two remaining games, but the head coach wants to see his side end the season on a high.
In the reserve fixture, the women’s B team beat Luton Town 8-0 in one of the performances of the season but the head coach expects his team to go into Sunday’s match with full professionalism.
“Last time we played Luton we played really well, it wasn’t a case of them being poor we just did really well and detected their weaknesses early and took the chances that came our way.
“We are aware of their recent performances they have been doing quite well so we won’t be going into the game just expecting to win. I want us to go into the game with fresh minds and to try and implement what we learn in training into the game.”
The B team will end their season next Wednesday when they play league winners Leyton Orient at Bedfont Sports Club.
The game means they will play two matches in a four-day period for the first time this season with Ryan-Maynard feeling it is a good opportunity to use his whole squad.
“It’s a strange one for us to have a midweek game, especially after playing on Sunday but it will be good to see how the team react.
“With it being our last game of the season it will be a great occasion for everyone to come down and support the ladies, it will be a good chance for me to rotate the team and give some players some valuable minutes.”
