Gtech Community Garden

Our Gtech Community Garden is a space for Brentford fans and the local community to enjoy when visiting the Gtech Community Stadium, the home of Brentford FC. The garden is located on Lionel South Road.   

At Brentford, we understand that we as a club and society are embedded in nature, and sustainability is a core value of ours. We understand the importance of protecting and enhancing the environment, which is why we created this garden to cultivate nature within our community. 

Plant species 

Our garden showcases approximately 25 different plant species as seen below, including wildflowers such as common knapweed and cowslip. We’ve also have various ornamental and herb species like rosemary and thyme and plan to plant an apple tree in the coming months. Additionally, we have repurposed floodlights from our previous stadium, Griffin Park, for planting.

As "The Bees," we recognise the vital role that bees play in our ecosystem. The UK is home to over 250 species of bees, most of which are solitary bees rather than bumblebees or honeybees. Unfortunately, bee populations are declining dramatically in the UK and globally.   

The diverse plants and flowers in the Gtech Community Garden provide essential nectar and pollen sources for bees. Our solitary beehive offers a safe nesting place for these bees, helping to support their populations. 

A key feature of the Gtech Community Garden is our memorial garden, a dedicated space where we honour and remember Brentford fans who are no longer with us. 

We are proud that our fans will be helping us to maintain the garden throughout the year and grateful for their help. Many of our plants were planted by our fans from our Sustainability Working Group who regularly meet to discuss sustainability-related initiatives.
